Ken,
I've thought long and hard about this one, and breathing the short hose can
in fact be safer.  Let's say I am now currently diving with double 80's.
When you pay off on your bet, leaving me to now dive with 104's.  I'll be a
safer diver.  Still breathing the long hose, but with more gas, thus safer.
See you this weekend, and bring  my *new* tanks.
