It's spelled "intellectuals".

Wow, I didn't know there was a bunch of tree-huggers down there in oz. I 
thought mem were men and women were, uh, sheep.

Well, you didn't really get the gist of what I was trying to say, did 
you? OK, let me spell it out. If we allow our governments to regulate 
every aspect of our lives insofar as wether or not the activity is bad 
for you, scuba diving will be regulated as well. And, so far, I have not 
seen anything where government involvement was a positive thing.
