George (& WKPP crew)

I've never had a problem getting to my regulator to hand to my buddy.
Not while in a cave, on a wreck, or under the ice.

BTW:
I love how you WKPP boys. Take one thing that I say and ignore the rest,
then try and make it sound like I said something that I didn't.

My point is, no one, I mean no one, has ever been able to show me that taking
a good working regulator out of your mouth, is safer then keeping it in your
mouth while underwater. It's just that simple.

One of your pals (Ken S????) stated some crap about stressed out divers.
At this stage of the game I don't dive with stressed out divers. The guys
I dive with have had more then their share of underwater emergencies in the old
days. They deal with underwater emergencies now like a piece of cake.
NO STRESS!!

Having a problem taking a regulator out of my mouth!! NOT HERE.
I had a regulator stop on me in more that 1oo' of water and I've removed
the regulator and made a free ascent to the surface at a controll rate of
speed. NO DCS, changed reg.'s then jumped back in the water, finished the
dive NO DCS. This is Great Lake cold diving. FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

I understand that when you're in a cave you could be a mile or so back.
But, you shouldn't be more than 50' from a secondary air source (your
dive buddy). You should be able to maintain controll long enough to
get your buddies attention and start your sharing air routine.

George, their are somethings I like about your diving style. Just as I've
mentioned to you in the past. I change my stage bottle regulator/SPG style
of setup to that of which the WKPP uses.

If I happen to be diving with you in some Florida cave and you are the team
captain I will change my setup to match the "TEAM" needs. I don't have a
problem with this for I'm a thinking diver. There is noting wrong with
your primary reg. being around your neck and handing it off. I've been there
and done that. "I" just don't feel this is the best way.

The only thing I won't compromise on, is something I think is death seeking
behavior. For this debut, "I" feel either way works.

No dive buddy of mine has ever had a problem getting to my primary regulator
(long hose) when I wore it around my neck. Plus, no dive buddy of mine has
currently had a problem getting to my backup reg. worn in the chest
area.

I live in Detroit, Death is not a high stress situation. (smile).
