Gary,

I used to bungee my long hose on the tanks. BFD. I tried both ways
too. Hell, I used to dive without an octopus way back in the old
days. Once again, BFD.

Excuse me. When the stressed out, out of air diver grabs the
regulator you are breathing because it's the one he's fixated on,
then guess what - You're both still out of air. Sorry bud, that's a
fact.

Now guess what. If your backup regulator doesn't work, that stressed
out diver is going to come after the one you're breathing and you're
both going to be out of air again. You can bet on him going after the
one you're breathing at that point because it works, and he's out of
air, and without air he's dead, and he knows it and is stressed out.

Why not just give him the working regulator and immediatly solve his
problem then worry about any other problem? It makes no sense to me
how people who seem to be logical minded refuse to do the thing that
makes the most sense?

Just tell me one thing, if you can answer this question then I will
slap bungees on my tanks right away.

WHY IS BUNGEEING THE LONG HOSE AND BREATHING THE SHORT HOSE SAFER
THEN BREATHING THE LONG HOSE ALL THE TIME?

If one person can give me a logical answer to this question then I
will sell all of my gear for peanuts and give them first dibs on my
104's.

Oh yeah, and "because two divers will be out of air at once" doesn't
cut it. If you can't hold your breath for 2 seconds underwater while
switching regs then you shouldn't be diving anyway.
