OK, Jim, let's hear how to do it (the ice flow part). If you don't think I know how to do the rest, you need to ask around. If you just want a pissing contest, you just hit paydirt. So let's hear it? I am tired of hearing people who have no idea what they are talking about run their mouths, like you about the Hogarth crap - when you can walk the walk, you can start to talk. In the meantime, tell us some postive information, that you do know about. In the meantime, when you or anyone else on this list, or any other list can tell me why doing things properly is so freakin out of the question, I'll listen. Tell me where the merrits of sloppy, poorly thought out gear lie, tell me why diving deco gas on your back is smart, tell me why deep air is smart, etc. Show me where I am wrong, Jim? How do you deal with moving ice in a dive operation? I am sure you have the answer, since you are doing it. How do you prevent damage to the ship? How do you preplan for need to move the ship? Who in your safety crew jumps down to warn the divers? What kind of marker do you set when you move. What kind of transmission device is held by the dive team. Who in the dive team is responsible for accounting for the rest when the ship moves? When fog sets in, what special procedures apply? What apparatus do you use to quick release the boat - similar to a tuna chumming operation, a remote pelican? Where is your float array set for a quick release? What type of signalling beacon is included in the float array that you pitch? Similar to a longliners' rig? Is it radar reflective? Is it high enough and does it put out a large enough "target" that a ship bearing down on your divers will yeild? Or do you live boat the wreck and use the radio? How do you warn your dive team when a tanker shows up running on a casette tape and the whole crew is watching tv and the captain only speaks Dutch? In other words, in stead of being a resentful little smart ass, why don't you make an effort to share some info like I do. By the way, if you don't like my information - delete it, or buy a good mailer that will filter it out. If you feel you need to straighten me out, do it on the strength or weakness of the facts, not on some weak-kneed "personal preference", it's cool-to-be-a-fool line of reasoning. - G (who else)
