Rich, > I love ya, but shut up. - G I do use doubles rigs all the time (at least I used to). I don't penetrate caves, nor do I penetrate wrecks; but you didn't limit your assault on that configuration to those sorts of dives. I know how you feel about "deco weenies", but TRUST ME - when you spend a year of your life learning how to walk again, and are told by some of the best in the medical-treatment-of-bends business that you should never ever ever consider diving again, you become a deco weenie. I understand why John developed his configuration they way he did. In your world, people die during the bottom part of the dive. In my world, they die about an hour after they leave the water because they botched decompression somehow. The lucky ones don't die, they just spend the rest of their lives in a wheelchair. Bends may not be a huge issue in cave diving, because the trip out of the cave forces some degree of decompression anyway. On a straight shot to the surface, bends is a big issue. Decompression gas is way more important than bottom gas in many situations. I love ya too, George, but unless you limit your assault of back-mounted deco gas to hard-core penetrations, then you'll have me to contend with. Rich One more thing, when we dive this summer, be sure to bring a good book to read while you wait for me on the deco line. The novelty of paralysis has worn off for me.
