was left alone.. i followed him to 170 (my air comfort level, especially
due to the fact that i had no redundency and no buddy and was diving
a reg that was acting up.. stupidy on my part) because he <<<was>>>
left
alone... completely. was his first dive this deep.

dont know what gas. i think he was a trimix student, he may have been
on mix.. landed (and i mean crash landed on a ledge at 260) was diving
independent 80's. did not see any he tanks at the shop tho.. no one
else was on mix.

true, about six in all, some of them had never been really deep on air,
or should i say "most" had not been really deep.

one of the divers that went to 375fsw didn't even have an alternate reg,
much less an h or y valve.. they were all on 80's with no deco gas...
did i say no deco gas... i guess someone did get back on the boat and
decant some 50% from the rebreather tanks for the last "stop" of their
deco. i believe it was one of the guys that went to 325.. imho there
was not much <<pre dive planning>>.

true, i stayed at 170 for five minutes or there about, until he seemed
to gain control of his decent :-) (wham, took that long for the dust
to settle so i could see him.. good thing there was a ledge there).
he started doing reg switches and seemed ok.. i don't know if i would
have gone after him or not.. if he would have had a serious problem..

> D) The student surfaced alone, some distance from the "instructors"

they didn't even know were he was, or seem to give a shit.

they were definitely bragging and laughing about the dive.. even the boat
captain went on that dive. scared the holy shit out of the germans.. they
were walking around shaking their heads.. one made a comment to me about
my depth.. he made an effort to check my computer to see if i had been on
the deep dive. something to the effect of "i thought more of you than that,
but i guess it is your ass on the line".

they made no effort to keep it quiet.

raimo made a comment about me not being on the boat when the 441 dive was
made.. it is true that i would not go back out with the group after the
375fsw dive, so i can't say what went on that day.

who are you anyway..
