>Hell, what you're saying, if you took it an extended it to all walks >of life I'm not extending it to anything but diving. You may, but it would lead to flaws that could not be resolved. >You cannot possibly plan for ALL contingencies, this is a simple fact. Yes, but you can evalulate the possiblility that the boat might disappear, (probably remote), weigh that possibility against the gain, (the ride to the site) and make your own decision. Now, if you decide the risk is worth the gain, and the boat disappears, who is to blame for your decision? My suggestion, if you locate a boat that has a higher-than-remote chance of disappearing while you are under water, is that you reject that risk as too severe, and not board the boat, or, failing that, not leave the boat for your dive. Otherwise, as long as the benefit outweighs the risk, (in YOUR opinion), it's your decision. >making sure that they have everyone ON BOARD BEFORE I can't imagine a boat that did this surviving the pressures of the market place for very long. I trust in these pressures to eliminate a boat or captain who would do such a thing. >Do you even know what Darwinian fitness means because it sure doesn't >sound like it... A diver who already has his family (read: offspring) >has fullfilled his place in a Darwinian sense. Removing that parent >from the planet does NOTHING to change his "fitness" in the Darwinian >perspective unless he planned on having MORE offspring. A diver who dies after having offspring has cut down on the chances of his offspring surviving to have offspring of their own. >So if you plan on writing laws or voting on them I suggest you really >learn what you're talking about first. From this darwinian thing, >it's clear that you're at least foggy... Yes, Carl, I love you too. Let us now visualize Friendship, and The Brotherhood of Depth, For we are One with the Ultimate Responsibility, and have arrived at Understanding. Turn your other cheek, My Brother, that I might smite it also. --------- "huh?" -Jammer, 1992 ---------
