Hi, John! Personal opinion here: Your skills as a diver outweigh getting the best "new" gear. It seems to me that you're taking the right track - getting your skills back up and then, if necessary, getting newer gear. I dove for12 years on one regulator and it's STILL doing duty as a pony bottle regulator, 20 years into my diving career. The old stuff, if it was GOOD old stuff will continue to work if you continue to take care of it. Also, I would take your time so that you have a chance at actually looking around, trying, and getting opinions about the modern gear. There's always a salesperson that is willing to sell you something even if it's not the right thing. Take the time to learn about the stuff before you buy it. -- Kevin -- -- Kevin -- kevink@ap*.co* It is hard to disagree with a pro-survival decision, It is even harder to engage in prolonged arguments with someone who consistently makes anti-survival decisions.
