Newer hard disks are better, but.....

Why not set your laptop so that it powers down the hard disk as fast
as possible - when running a single program, there's no need to access
the hard disk unless you need to load data/etc that's not in memory
currently...  so, keeping the disk spun down seems to be the best
idea, right???
