WKPP conducted dives at Wakulla and some new caves this weekend,
with the usual objectives. On Friday, Casey McKinlay and I did a
double stage in A Tunnel and added to J tunnel, but the vis was
five feet, so it was slow going, and we just followed a wall until
we got sick of it. 50 min BT with 200 deco.

Rat, Jules, and Wayne Head broke C Tunnel back open from the
"spur tunnel" in another one of those Tallahasse "optical illusions",
where the way on was hidden from view. They did this on a single stage.

Steve Irving and Dave Minors worked another lead off of the
crossover tunnel, and found another room with multiple tunnels, so
the B/C/ maze continues.

Pete Gomez and Larry Care took samples from several spots along
A Tunnel. Pete has come up with a really ingenious method of storing,
carrying and deploying sample tubes.

Bob McGuirre, Rick Sankey, Bill Mee and Bill Main did a video of
the crossover tunnels for the digitized maps and for the productions that
Warner Television is working on.

Bill Mee and I scoped out some new stuff up the line, and added some
in a beautiful white cave which looked like Maya Blue without speleothems.
It was 175 to 215, huge, white, and clear.

On Sunday, McGuirre and crew made a film there with Ken Sallot and
Ed Drambauer, while Pete Gomez and Larry Care did a side tunnel, Rat
and Q. Jones surveyed the main line, and Irving, Scarabin and Miners did
the downstream. Bill Mee and I did land recon.

Deb ran the surface, and Jim Wei ran the support crew, which did
an amazing job of putting all of these divers in and out while the boats
were running and the TV crews were filming without anyone even being
able to really tell we were there.

Maybe all of these guys can get on here and fill in the details of
their own dives, which were all really productive. We all met for dinner
at Lucy Ho's each night, with twenty showing up last night. Jim Wei
pulled his favoriote joke on me, and Bill Deans called in the middle
of dinner to check up on us.

I would really like to thank these guys and say that the efficiency
of this team is unbelieveable. It is a good thing, because we just picked
up 32 new dive sites, and these guys will all be really busy for a long time.

     =- George Irvine
