Jeff, thanks for the heads up on the Sport Diver article - I have
not seen it. I remember telling them that if they did an article, I
did not want to hear about the diving ( which they thought was
kamikazi), but about what the Project actually is, so from what you
say, they ust have respected my wishes.
As for the NSS, this is different from the CDS, which is itself
merely a "grotto", or local club , of the NSS. The NSS is a serious
organization, which supports scientific reasearch. The CDS is a club
of "good old boys" who try to hide cave and prevent guys like us from
doing research by badmouthing us all of the time and refusing to
support our efforts. For this they will re treated in kind.
Mike Weisenbaker is an archeologist for the State of Florida, and
wears the same shoes with us, in addition to being one of our photographers.
He has indeed spent years studyng the region, and has helped us trememdously
during that time. He now writes most of our articles, and is effectively
our publiscist as well.
