PCASE, I have two dry suits. A DUI TLS-350 and a GATES Pro-Am. The DUI TLS-350 is a trilaminate Suit with Latex neck and Wrist seals. I wear a Wet Hood, InnerSpace Dry Glove, and DUI Sea Chaps with this Suit. I find the DUI TLS-350 to be a good (all around) durable suit that is easy to swim in and light (weight) enough take on board a plan for travel. The GATES Pro-AM is a valcanized rubber suit. It has Latex wrist seals, neck seals, and a latex dry hood. With the Latex dry hood you have to wear some kind of hood liner to keep your head warm. The dry hood setup is much warmer then the Wet hood setup. The GATES Pro-AM is made of a thicker suit material, which "I feel" makes the suit more durable then the DUI TLS-350. This thicker suit material makes the suit much heavier, which I feel is something to think about as you pack your dive gear and get ready to load your gear on/in a airplane, train, car...etc. The big problem "I Find" is that the thicker material make the GATES Pro-AM a much harder suit to swim in. The Valcanized rubber suits are great if you do more work standing in one place underwater, rather then alot of swimming underwater. It is also a great suit to get for diving in contaminated water because the suit can be easily cleaned. I must admit, I'm not one for diving in contaminated water, but when your diving inside some shipwrecks your suit tends to get alittle dirty, greasey. ...etc. Which suit do I wear the most? I wear the DUI TLS-350 for most (95%) of my Great Lake Wreck diving. The main reason is this suit is more comfortable to dive in. This suit also has the Durability I need, the swim ability I need, and I can get it clean after a dive (This may be because I don't get it very dirty during the dive).
