Roger, Compuserve (CIS) has a Scuba forum which is only accessible through the CIS online service. It is a comprehensive forum dedicated to all aspects of diving from snorkeling to technical, cave and commercial diving. The membership of the forum has recently passed 40,000 members and continues to grow. The Cave and Technical Sections are very active and have as members some of the top practitioners in the world. There is no more comprehensive forum for scuba diving anywhere in the world. The Compuserve Forums are much more interactive than mailing lists. They offer: Person to person addressing on the forum which can be either private or take the shape of a public conversation that others can join in on by responding with the same header. These ongoing conversations are called threads and can be arranged for viewing in many ways. Live conferences between divers at prearranged times and on a given topic or simply a free-ranging discussion of diving in general. A large library of files, software and threads of general interest. Using a navigator you can sign-on with the stroke of a key and download all files of interest, messages and mail. The program runs itself and then saves the material neatly arranged in files which are easily manipulated and responded to. Or you can go live online using WinCim, an online comm program for navigating CIS manually. CIS also provides Internet access. JoeL
