I've had my Nike IV and V under the ice any number of times, and in
salt cold water at Les Escoumins as well (actually a degree or two colder,
upon occasion). No prob's at all. Be aware, though, that if any of
the mechanism is / gets abit stiff, then don't force it (I've had this
in warm water, actually- meant some internal o-rings needed cleaning).
Biggest hassle- your fingers!! They get cold and unmanageable, even
in gloves.
