Ok, clueless newbie (only Intro certified) question here....
(and no I'm not trying to be difficult).

Are these people not running a reel from the entrance to
the permanent line?  and even if they are doing a traverse
(which I've not trained for yet) aren't you suppose to
dive both sides and install lines?

Now I did do part of my Intro in Peacock this past May.  At that
time the permanent line was located just at the bottom of
the (first?) chute.  I thought (not that I have a wealth of experience)
this was reasonable (and made for what I thought was a decent 
Intro level lesson of managing the line going up/.down the shaft 
and anchoring under the brick at the bottom (and then tying 
off on the permanent)).  In case I;ve confused the entrances 
this is the one that leads back toward Pothole.  Have they moved 
the permanent line back further?

I've got my marshmellows out again in anticipation of flames,
but all of the above are honest questions (from the viewpoint
of an Intro-level student)
