The Russians have soft-helmet, entry-though the backpack pressure suits. This considerably simplifies design, as there are only four rigid openable points (the lower helmet section, the backpack itself and the two gloves). The americans also have a soft-hood pressure suit. Such a suit was only used once, during a long-duration (some 2 weeks) Gemini mission. In this case, the head was encased in a detachable bag with rigid lexan partial faceplate. (From Apollo on, the Americans have used fishbowl-style rigid helmet pressure suits). -------------------Pour la Republique Francaise du Quebec------------------ In a Democracy, where opinion makes the law, money primes.
