The Russians have soft-helmet, entry-though the backpack pressure
suits. This considerably simplifies design, as there are only four
rigid openable points (the lower helmet section, the backpack itself
and the two gloves).

The americans also have a soft-hood pressure suit. Such a suit was
only used once, during a long-duration (some 2 weeks) Gemini mission.
In this case, the head was encased in a detachable bag with rigid
lexan partial faceplate.

(From Apollo on, the Americans have used fishbowl-style rigid
helmet pressure suits).

In a Democracy, where opinion makes the law, money primes. [...] The image
primes upon the idea, speeches dominates writings and in elections, posters
show the (expensive) colour picture of the candidate rather than his credo
printed in (cheap) black and white. [...] In a Republic, principle, being
something else than a compromises of interests, rules conduct. A political
party, for example, is not a power-grabbing and power-keeping machine.
