Hi Tom,

With training allmost all divers can reach valves without loosening the
crotch strap and it is a brief period until the valve is shut down. It
is easy to do on a jon line, it is easy to do in current, in caves and
in open water and it is easy to do in wrecks. IANTD students as well as
experienced divers do this all the time without problems once they have
praticed.

I've never tried to shut down a manifold, and so I don't know how hard
or easy it is. I did mention the two handed approch to valve closing,
but only to dismiss it as irrelevent to the discussion, as the divers
that need to do this are Darwin's problem. Someone else (I forget
who) then jumped in and said that loosening crotch straps, and using
two hands to close the valve was no problem.

It sounds like we agree, that if you can do it right, you don't need
two hands to operate your diving equipment.

Cheers Jason =:)
