Nick , to answer your questions about what we use: I am the only one who uses an isolator, the rest use the old Scuba Pro "Benjamin" manifold. Lamar Enlish was the only other one who uses DIN, but he had a bar, not an isolator. The others plug the burst disks, as a lost disk would mean lost gas. Actually, depending on which side you lose, you can still lose all of you gas if you lose a reg and the shutoff knob. I don't really care. If I break off the knob (has happened twice) or lose a reg (never has happened to me) I call the dive. I lost the maniflod once, but we had already walled the place out, and the tanks didn't finish draining until after we were on the surface - that was rental gear in Mexico. We use no scooter cages or protective devices - they are unnecessary. The right knob turns off on the two side port manifold if you hit the ceiling, but I just reach back and turn it on if I get near anythng - this is a reflex with me, and I also do it every time I check my gas supply. I never run with any of my main regs turned off. On this note, I would avoid metal knobs - they dent and won't turn either way. - George
