I am really surprised to see such a drawn out discussion here about the ability to reach and operate manifold valves. Tom Mount and Ronnie Bell were perhaps a little too diplomatic...if you can't reach your valves with ease, you should not be in the water using a manifold. If reaching behind your head presents a problem which practice does not overcome, an alternative configuration with the tanks mounted <upside down> might be the answer. This configuration is commonly used by some European divers and even here in the frozen north. If anyone would like more details, please e-mail me privately.
