A lot of the wrecks here are at "recreational" depths (130 feet or less) but its a real pain to ride a boat for 2 or 3 hours, get seasick, pay $80-$100, and then get 15 minutes of bottom time on the first dive, less on the second, then ride the boat back for another 2 or 3 hours. Six hours travel time, 1.5 to 2 hours for a surface interval and 30 minutes on the bottom. 7.5 to 8 hours of dead time for 30 minutes fun. I think the desire for more bottom time in situations like this and the introduction of cheap Nitrox fills with molecular seives on standard compressors will cause Nitrox use to explode over the next few years. The availability of Nitrox computers will help push things along too. A few extra minutes on the bottom in situations like this is quality time and a lot of people would think it was worth the Nitrox training/expense. Rick Fincher rnf@sp*.tb*.co*
