Whoever the hell "103103.2112" is, you don't give a name, no one can reference anything you say. Anyone could call themselves a PADI MSDT and it doesn't mean a flying f**k around here. Hell, I know some ITs I wouldn't give the time of day and that's from PERSONAL experience. So, who are you and what shop were you working for??? You certainly can't let accusations like this lie in front of hundreds on this mailing list and not expect to be told o put up or shut up so I'm calling you on it... Not only that but if we know who YOU are, we can check with PADI to see about YOUR past - hmmmm - how about that??? And, there's ALWAYS two sides to the story, I'm *sure* that if Tom Mount and others have withheld your certification, there's some reason. You said that you didn't think taking a test was fair. Let me say that even IF others did or did not take a test, for you to turn this down is unreasonable. You want to dive Nitrox you should know this stuff, and not just for some half hour test, but for your whole diving career. So, you want to go from being a PADI Instructor to a tech instructor in less than a year... How many nitrox dive DID you do? What percentages - what depths - what type of deco??? Oh, I might mention that publicly stating that you were being blackmailed could be an actionable offense if Bob chooses to pursue, but, you're probably just a gnat that needs to be squashed and forgotton. You know, maybe, just maybe Tom DID review all the facts and your case came up short... So, you aligned yourself with ANDI... Well, Andi has a pretty checkered past, at least as much, if not MORESO, as IANTD so if I were you I wouldn't go waving any agency flags around. Maybe we *all* learned the difference between an agency name and a real agency today too!!! Now, with that said, I *just today* visited he Scuba Depot in Mineola, New York. I have no connection with Bob Raimo other than having met him here on the net. I will say that I was *very* impressed wih his shop, his professional, safety conscious attitude and setup. I rank it as one of the *top* (if not *THE* top) shops that I've ever visited, *ever* and highly recommend people finding themselves in the area to drop by and chat like I did today. I know I'll be coming down to NY next year to go out on some charters with these guys... I'm usually pretty skeptical when dealing with new people, but it was *clear* and I mean *crystal* that he's doing things right in his shop, not cutting corners to save a buck and sacrifice safety. Great shop Bob!!! -Carl-
