Hi all,

George has pointed out something (by private email) that I missed out
on saying, and asked me to make it clearer.

I'm talking here about *solo* diving on trimix.  A situation where
the advantages of a manifold during gas shareing are not important.

He assures me that I would not dive with the strokes who use independents
if I was in America.  I can't help but agree, but then I wouldn't dive
with anyone with a manifold (or a christmas tree) on a trimix dive anyway.
I just don't dive with other people, it introduces far too many factors
over which I have no control.

The kind of preliminary buddy checks that are *essential* for buddy
team diving simply cannot be done in OW.  There is no calm, still entry
pool for doing these things in.  There is a bloody great big ocean!

Full of waves, current and a boat which bobs up and down with the sole
purpose of braining unwary divers.
