I've had no problems with it using twin steel 80's. I've put my double
120's on it and walked up and down stairs w/o any problems, but haven't
dived the 120's together, just the 80's. I honestly can't figure out
how a solid plate would improve the stability, if it shifts at all it's
because the harness is loose. Tightening the harness is a pain on land,
but easy under water.

I don't think it's a bad recreational BC, in fact I think it's a good one,
but who really needs 45 lbs of lift with a recreational BC? Sort of
overkill I think. I've never even inflated the air cell under water
with a single, I use my suit. I suppose I could buy the 'travel' wings, but
that's just more money and no real improvement. I guess the compromise
is that the cell is a little too beefy unless you're using doubles.

As far as diving a backplate with singles goes, you're right there's
nothing to stop you, they do take up more space though, and they're hell
on soft luggage ;).

Scott.
