Casey, these guys love to argue bad points. They think I am being
a mean guy about the crappy gear. They think "personal preference"
is some kind of euphamism for "ok to be a moron". As you , Casey .
pointed out, that won't fly in cave diving. Maybe some of these guys
could learn from us (cave divers) instead of arguing from the wrong
side.

Dive Rite is by no means alone in offering a light that I would not
use . There are several others that are horrible for different reasons.
To be fair to dive rite, let's look at them: ralph Hoods uses the shittiest
connector made, and allows the batteries to slop around in the canister, better
for breaking the switch. The Starlight, made by some local deviate, is the worst
immitation of a shitty light I have ever seen - there is nothing right
about this light, or its maker, for that matter. There is a copy of
the dive rite which is downright crimminal. There is a two-lidded
light that prbably seems like a real good idea to the anal retentive
clown who made it, but it causes more problems than it solves with the
double ended bit. There is a better way to get this effect, but I will
never tell. The connectors on this light are horrifying. Arnold could use
a few changes in his light, but one can do that oneself - I did it to my
Arnold lights.

The big problem is that lights are generally made to appeal to a bunch
of people who have no clue what is right, so the worst ones are the best
sellers, like anything else. - G
