Hi fellow divers, Dan Volker wrote : >I posted this to rec.scuba recently, and I'll make the same bet here. What I want to demonstrate is that >they only are good for people who either like to swim slow (i.e., macro >photographers) or have to swim slow (the physically unfit who cramp easily >or have heart conditions, etc.) I totally agree , there exists fins for every kind of activity. There is nouch thing as a ideal fin for eveything or everybody. For me personally Force Fin's excell in : - towing buddies (you have "easy" power for a hard job , you don't kick him and in shallow water you don't touch the bottom) - physical training in the pool swimming freestyle ! you go faster because your kick cycle is shorter (but you still burn calories!) The latter in my opinion just countradicts your saying that Force Fins is for lazy guys ! For me Force Fin's are NOT designed for power as their name wrongly suggests but are designed for COMFORT and I think for us divers that is a very important issue. If you want power get those long FINS .. but do NOT FORCE yourself :-) You have the power (or not ;-) NOT THE FINS ... So The challenge .. why bother ... it is just a question of who is physically at its best ... isn't it ???
