This is exactly correct - the CDS is a disgrace and an embarrassment. The WKPP , for example, is an official project of the NSS, but we will have nothing to do with the CDS, and in fact members of the CDS BOD have in the past mounted a letter writing campaign trying to get permits of the WKPP revoked - a fine effort for cave diving. Give these guys what they deserve - the thumb. -----Original Message----- From: Danilo Allegrini [mailto:speleos@os*.co*.br*] Sent: Friday, October 27, 2000 7:38 AM To: cavers@cavers.com Subject: Re: cave course Tod, From a dry caver stand point, the NSS is a great organization. They have done a lot for DRY caving in the US and supporting it will only do good regarding DRY caving. However, on the WET side of the story, the CDS (at least nowadays) is not up to the rest of the NSS "name". I am a dry caver, have been down there for more than 10 years in a lot of leading survey projects in my country and when time arrived for cave diving instruction, I went to GUE. If you want a dry caving top organization, go for NSS. If you want a cave diving top agency, go to GUE.
