It is just not an activity that lends itself to making a living. I just had this conversation with JJ. The young guys may teach and dive for a while, and then they get other jobs and teach on the side. Then there are the old pros who do something else and teach a little. JJ is looking for people who do not need to teach. The worst are the course jammers and the full time players who like to teach courses like deep air that have no cost, other than in human life, or reabreather courses, which they can charge more money for. It is no accident who the instructors are who claim the "world's youngest overhead diver" . Diving is a gift to be passed on, not something to make money off of - it is too dangerous if done this way. ----- Original Message ----- From: Kreska Jack-FJK003 <Jack.Kreska@mo*.co*> To: <trey@ne*.co*>; John Dudas <john_dudas@ya*.co*>; <cavers@cavers.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 03, 2000 2:23 PM Subject: RE: "Junior" Cave Divers? > I think you'll find that many of the better instructors (like me, for > instance (-: ) are gainfully employed in industries other than scuba.
