I did a similar repair on a light (AUL Spectrum 100, I think) and replaced the lead as a matter of course because salt water had corroded the wire, making soldering the leads a real pain. Probably not your problem in this case, but when I undid the compression fittings, I replaced the o-rings. The other thing that may have happened is that you broke the glue seal where the fitting goes into the canister or light slug. When I was doing the repair, I was pretty anal and instead of trusting myself not to dislodge them, I took them out, cleaned them and reglued them. hth Paul > The whole problem started when the light cord got shortened.
