Kevin, I experimented with EO connectors ten years ago for battery stage packs for scooters. The main problem was that if they were not plugged & un-plugged "exactly" straight each and every time from start to finish, the seal takes a beaten and "will" fail. Trying to accomplish this connection straight each, and "every time" underwater is damn near impossible (Try to survey a cave without a bubble level).
