Not that it isn't tropical here, but....

With the mask strap under the hood, the water exchange is about 1000 times 
more because there is a gap on each side of your hood.  Makes for a very 
cold head, body and dive.

I've never seen a mask come off during an air share.    The only time I've 
seen masks come off is when GUE instructors are around.
