Why don't you name these slobs? The point is well taken with regards to =
there being riff-raff within the organization, but why stop here? Finger =
the bastards.

I would like to enlighten this list as to what it really takes to =
become a CDS instructor first hand. If anybody else has anything =
similar, please post it. I don't expect to hear from any active CDS =
instructors, they don't want to lose their cards, but then again, it =
really isn't worth much in my view, so what are they scared of.=20

During my internship to become a Full Cave Instructor within the CDS =
I was required to co-teach with several instructors within the =
organization. One of these classes was with two former Intro Cave =
students of mine (I was a Intro Instructor at the time) going for their =
App Cave Card. Our first dive was to set-up a circuit at Ginnie. The =
dive went without event, and the students preformed fairly, but not at =
the App level in my judgement. When the time came for the post dive =
briefing, and discussion for the second dive, the instructor in charge =
signed their paperwork off at App cave, gave it to me, and took his =
course fee's. When I ask him what he was doing he simply told me that =
from what he had seen they did very, very good, that their is nothing he =
could teach them and that he needed to get ready for a training =
committee meeting later that night anyway. Needless to say, these divers =
did do the required 4 dives (not 1) plus one more before I co-sign the =
paper work. In a completely different class, a different CDS instructor =
didn't even require that I get into the water with him. After witnessing =
all of this and much more, I sought out the real deal, and finished my =
internship solely with Pat Watson and Lamar Hires who both made me work =
and learn more for my full cave instructor card.
