I put batteries in checked baggage (one in the cannister and one padded with clothes etc). In some 60 plus trips over the years I have not had a problem. However, during 1999, of approximately 60 cave divers who flew to Mexico to meet me, at least 6 expressed encountering problem at security checks at airport...all with their batteries in CARRY ON luggage. All were forced to leave them behind. True, you could argue the point with airline personnel, miss your flight, etc. It is just simpler IMHO to put less weight on your back and not have the confrontation <g> and enjoy your cave diving vacation! Again, I would recommend batteries) for checked baggage and carry on your computer and regulators if you MUST carry something (most airlines from states allow 2 bags at 70# each PLUS a carry on) Safe diving and traveling to all, Connie Assistant Manager, Ginnie Springs Resort 904-454-2202 phone http://www.cavediving.com/connie/ 904-454-3201 fax 18237 Oshawa Drive, Hudson, FL 34667 727-862-2676 home
