Les, go the DOS operating sytem and load basic, then run the "mortgage" program embedded in basic. You use all basic commands to load and then it runs like a normal program. Do like "basic" "load mortage.bas" "run" and then control z it or control d or control break it to stop it. I think there is one embedded in Windows as well, and they are embedded in most of the Microsoft programs, like Office, etc, and run like normal programs. Otherwise , mortage programs are tricky unless you use natural exponents and logarythms to solve them, considered cheating in the math world. Most still use iteration, but the chips are so fast these days. Straight calculations are simply the sum of the periods-type equations. Look up Sidney Homer on the Salomon Bros. web site and see if they have "Inside the Yield Book" calculations there.
