I again want to express my sincere thanks for the response to my recent posts. All of the gear has been spoken for at this time. There will probably be some more odds and ends as i continue to clean out the garage. Folks, let me again assure you, I am not getting out of diving. I have only sold about 1/3 of my gear (scary, huh?) and will be diving just as much as ever, just not so deep. I still have 3 sets of doubles, 2 scooters, 2 DUI drysuits and about a dozen stage bottles left (no, none of it is for sell so back off ;-) As some of you guessed, I got a minor DCS hit that shook me up. It was what we call slobitis and is a type of skin bends. It was on a (relatively) conservative dive that went well except it was deeper than expected (351'). The deco was still "correct", meaning I would do the same again. The screwup on my part was being pretty dehydrated from the exertion of getting to the site and setting up the dive. I am still convinced that the techniques and procedures that are continuing to be evolved by the wkpp are the best roadmap we have available and that is what I will continue to use. But that is only a contributing factor for my decision to back off. I have seen some awesome cave in the past three years, but have paid a huge price financially, physically mentally and in time. (My yard is a wreck!) Last year I spent over 10 grand on gear, 3 to 5 grand on dive related travel and took 4 weeks off without pay to do it. In short, for a poor working man with a wife who loves me, my priorities got a little out of whack. Anyway, I will still be around, and I will still be hammering the strokes, but I will try to do it in a kinder, gentler manner. Good luck to you all and let's go diving. Jess
