Subject: USDCT in competence wasRe: what we do
Chris, we actually went considerably farther than that, finished off A
Tunnel, pulled the gear back out and put it O Tunnel, and are ready to
rock, all in one day using the multiple team approach that the usdct did
not have the divers to execute.

The cave is set up heavily for the first mile and a half, with the gear
positioned to be moved forward easily when we explore the next series of
tunnels off of O , beyond where the usdct was able to get in three
months of following our lines. All of the old safeties are out now.

What we saw was sickening. These people are the worst incompetent
strokes in diving. The mutillated the cave everywhere they went. Some of
the damage was so severe it looked like it had been jackhammered. JJ and
I stopped several times in amazement at the size of the rocks that were
smashed or broken clean off . The entrance looks like Ginnie now. I now
see why these morons wore helmets. Stone should have had them do the
"walk and chew gum" test before selecting his "divers".

They put in an additional line in A Tunnel while leaving the mess they
put in there in their last project, so now the cave has five lines . The
line they ran goes in on the left wall , and then goes back to the far
right where they put in a T to go to B Tunnel, adding 200 feet to the
distance and making a huge line trap out of it. They then ran that line
along the FLOOR at 280 without belaying it anywhere, and most of it is
burried in the silt. These guys are so stupid it is criminal.

Wherever we had T's, they moved the arrows right onto the T's so they
are cockeyed and you can not tell by the arrow which way is out. Again,
these strokes are as stupid as it gets.

Everywhere in the cave they deployed little styrofoam buoys with lead
weights and reflective tape since they could not follow the line with
the crap they were riding and carrying, and these have drifted all over
the place. If one got off of the line trying to follow these markers,
they would never find it again.

They obviously got all turned around in A Tunnel and got heavy handed
with their arrows , all of which we removed from the cave since they
were improperly placed in almost every circumstance ( they clearly did
not know the survey or anything about cave diving). In one place in A it
was evident that they went in a big loop and missed the main line , and
then came all the way back the loop ( the wrong way all along), which
added 2,000 feet each way to their dive wittout ever getting 500 feet
from where they started , whereas the correct line goes straight out
2,000 feet towards Cherokee. They crashed and burned in a couple of
spots, ripping the line down with the pendants that held it, and then
connected jump lines over the cluster and arrowed them all up like some
kind of bizarre ritual. These guys must have been scared shitless to do
this. In addition, they rode right past every lead in there, but JJ and
I took care of that - A Tunnel is now walled out, meaning the next open
lead in Wakulla Springs Cave is beyond the furthest "penetration" of the
usdct , and is a dive that JJ and I have done quite handily in one day.
In fact, on the dive this past Saturday I had dinner at Lucy's
afterwards and we did not even get into the water until 10:00 am.

One day, more than they did in three months.

All of you strokes out there were hoping these guys would show us up.
Well guess what - their own sponsor, National Geographic, concluded that
WKPP "does it best". In fact, both their magazines in two articles this
year alone make this clear, and they got that information on their own ,
as it is dead nuts obvious .

The party is over for personal preference and bullshit, and we have the
usdct to thanks for putting the nails in that coffin is so many ways,
and for finally putting an end to any question as to the contrary.
