Jess,

We have here yet another variation on the "Poodle Jacket" solution, proposed
folowing the tragic death of Bobby McGuire. This is equivalent to placing
inadequately labeled medicine bottles in colored plastic bags. Once again
there is a total and unequivocal refusal to accept what has been endorsed by
every sensible person out there; and that is 3" high MODs on both sides of
the gas bottle.

While it probably is true that this dive had no official or unofficial
connection to IANTD the message that this sorry event sends is precisely why
IANTD must rewrite it's convoluted and functionally inadequate bottle
marking standards. When the single largest so called technical diving
certification agency is incapable of codifying the obvious and instead
proposes more Mad Hattery, it really makes one want to just give up on
technical diving and take up golf.

Best regards,

Bill
