it is absolutely necessary to wear gloves in cold water. you can feel your hands for a longer time which means you can manipulate your gear. during extended dives in cold water, however, something as simple as shifting stages becomes a real task, even with gloves. i would venture to say, it could not be done without them in this case. for mobility and a tolerable degree of 'feeling', i use 3mm gloves. the 5's are just too thick.-jason Maggie Owens wrote: > Pardon me, please, for asking what may be a really stupid question... > > Is it ever okay (DIR, that is) to wear gloves in a cave?
