The WKPP has always answered any questions I, or the group I >dive with, have asked. They have the experience and education to help to keep >you from making mistakes that may cause you bodily harm. Don't listen to >them. I don't care. But don't bad mouth them, they are the single best source >of help, information, and equipment you or I could know. What he said. I'm not a WKPPer. I'm not even a newbie cave diver. I'm an old AOW who got back in a few years ago, heard about these psychos, and very quickly realized they knew a LOT more about diving than I did. So I sat the fuck down and I shut the fuck up and I listened. Occasionally I asked questions, politely. Wonder of wonder, the WKPP guys went to a LOT of time and trouble to answer my idiot newbie questions, patiently and in detail, with never even a hint of smoke or flame. That specifically includes George M. Irvine III, the Director. George answered a LOT of my idiot newbie questions. And, as a direct result, I learned a LOT about diving that I hadn't known, saved a LOT of money, and have a LOT more fun in the water. (And yes, I do my bit to spread the knowledge around. It is a LOT of fun to see the light dawn on someone's face when they suddenly understand how the long hose and the neckstrapped backup reg play together, to give just one real-world example.) --John
