There is no such thing as copyrighting in the US law, copyright for images and text stays with the author, and is non-transferrable - only the publishing rights can be transferred. It should not be confused with trademarks. Another curious angle about the whle story is that the front page of the site and other pages about it is that it has the same pictures that are normally used to promote the PATENTED (!) XTec thing. We seem to be dealing here with a group of individuals who really BELIEVE in copyrighting or patenting things that other people create, so, alas, my friend Barry's mishap comes as no surprise. It doesn't really makes sense to get mad at this particular case either. Normally people like that REALLY don't understand what you are taliking aboutknow anything about when it comes to etherial chimeras like "honor", "conscience", and such - money and their own material well being is the only language they understand, so find yourself the meanest copyright lawyer, Barry, of the personal injury persuasion, and set him or her after them!!! On the other hand, it's good to know tht there seems to be a consensus of general disgust on this subject on cavers.
