Subject: WAKULLA MAP CORRECTION - "Can't TAPTS"
Chris Werner was at my house today and pointed out an error in our
map of Wakulla Springs Cave which we will correct on the web sites. (We
will not put the rest of the map out for public view right now,
however.)

The M Tunnel begining on the map is way too far into the cave. Since
I reverse added the crossover without checking the position of the O-M
tunnel, and never looked at the computer map in the first place, the O/M
junction comes out way too far South near Cherokee. I just never looked
at the computer map since the one I use is hand drawn, and I have not
looked at that one since last summer when I plotted the 18,000 foot dive
data. I send the data to the guy with the big computer wihtout ever
looking at the map results.

I was wondering why the uwsdct strokes could seemingly get to the
O/M crossover junction but not to the next intersection and how they
could be 200 meters from Cherokee and not see any of that stuff. I was
also wondering why the cis lunar readout never showed the 190 foot
section that they would have had to travel through to get where they
claimed they went. The answer is that they did not go 9500 feet, they
went a tad more than 7500 feet, and that puts you 200 meters from the
edge of the Cherokee Sink as it appears on the surface. It takes
anouther few grand just to get around that giant breakdown down below,
and 1200 feet just up against the edge of it at 285.

This is even more pathetic than I had ever imagined. This means
that these bozos failed to get within 2000 feet of our open circuit
penetration. I can not actually blame them, give the garbage they were
diving with, and the cast of idiots with whom they were working.

This is horrifying strokery of the worst order, and really
embarrassing. Geez, I am 47 years old , have a real life, a wife and
family, don't take any chances , and just dive occasional weekends, and
I did that dive on open circuit with Brent and Rick in less than two
hours and was at Lucy Ho's eating sushi on Sanky's Gold Card by 8:00 PM
that night . These guys on the other hand were a couple of desparate
wannabee kids with no fear and no clue who would have walked on hot
coals to be big shots. They had three months, a bell, a chamber, $8,000
batteries in their scooters, electronic rebreathers that when working
damn near level the playing field on gas between us on open circuit and
hoovering, incompetent, out of shape clueless strokes, and the best they
could do is not even get to our third bottle "depot" as they called
them, and basicly did a tad more than one third of our distance, not the
"tripple" they advertised, and failed to even see over 25,000 feet of
cave, which is three times more cave than was even there when they got
through with thier first orgainized cluster ten years ago.

You can't teach pigs to sing.
