If all goes well, and it does not rain for the next five weeks, we should be able to get started up where we were so rudely interrupted. I don't see any reason to dive at Wakulla unless we can work the A Tunnel, which requires good conditions, like what the usdcct had for three months and did nothing but yap and promote their pesonal sales agenda. We can wait until then to even set the place up. Everyone needs to put together a safety bottle, we also need to get the existing troughs up to speed as well as any new ones. We need enough bottles to line Wakulla, Turner, Wakulla Beach and Leon Downstream. Upstream is done. We need a lot of bottles, unless you want to bring a double cis lunar and a rabbit's foot. The main areas of important focus are in Leon Sinks this year - we have to get that moving while we have such good access. You just never know what might happen. It should be all bought by the Federal Government, which means permanent access for WKPP. Weather is a big factor as well, as we could lose the place for years at a time with bad weather. Another big fact of life is that our team is as good and as big as it has ever been, and we will need that talent to do these dives. We need to move before we get any turnover again - it is too hard to train and weed out top divers like the group we now have. It is also hard to maintain this degree of readyness all of the time without diving. This last layoff may have cost us more than we think. Later, after we get the important work done, like A in Wakulla, Turner, resurvey and explore downstream from Cheryl through Innisfree, and get Wakulla Beach moving north, we can work the long stuff in Wakulla from 8,000 out on rebreathers ( everyone should be fully proficient by then)- that is not going anyplace, as we have seen. While we are doing A, half of the team can do M and the other stuff, and when we do the O leads, we will run everyone in O. A Tunnel may be the one that travels over to downstream Turner. At any rate, A and two of the O leads are the source of the bad water at Wakulla so we need to follow them to their beginnings. For right now, I would like to see the Tallahassee guys work the Wildlife Refuge - give it a week to dry up and let's get on it. We are all set up for the swimthrough of Big D to Cheryl, so as soon as that clears we can run that dive. Kevin will let us know when he is coming to make his film. Let's be as efficient as possible this year - all of us need to be able to work so we can afford to do this. We do not have anyone hanging over our heads any longer claiming they can do it better , so we can basicly "walk down" now. It is now pretty clear who the best in the business is , so let's just be real smart about it and real careful. Get eveything ready, let me know what you need from me, and let's make it a great year.
