Exactly correct. I spread it out over 3 years (ok longer than I really wanted due to extenuating circumstances), but then again I am only better off for it. Almost all cave skills can be practiced in simulated circumstances in your local quarry. Learn everything there, and demonstrate that you know it when you take your cave class. Practice your buoyancy control in full cave gear. Dive in full cave gear until the gear is no longer the issue, until doubles no longer faze you, and putting on a single again seems like weightlifting with Nerf weights. I pity the guys who show up for full cave and have to totally convert from OW singles gear. Too many new things all at once. Remove some of the variables on your own time, ahead of the class. There is enuf info out there to be rigged correctly without the need to take a class first. Best of luck, Mike
