Alan, if your buddies are running away from you and getting so far away that they've left you, they need to learn to scooter and work on their buddy awareness. The problems metal blades present do not solve the possibility of making the scooter faster. As John mentioned, I saw it too, I saw a guy try to break his finger with an aluminum blade a few years back. He was nearly successful.
