Public Programs Activities will be scheduled throughout the one-year
run of the exhibition. Unless otherwise noted, programs are free with
museum admission.
California Underground: Our Caves and Subterranean Habitats is
generously funded by Oakland Museum Women's Board; National Fish and
Wildlife Foundation; Crosby, Heafey, Roach and May; Dean Witter
Foundation; J. M. Long Foundation; Natural Sciences Guild; True North
Foundation; Lake Shasta Caverns; The National Speleological Society;
and the Bureau of Land Management.
The Oakland Museum of California is a regional museum devoted to the
environment, history and art of the state. The museum is located at
Oak and 10th Streets in downtown Oakland, one block from the Lake
Merritt BART station and four blocks from Highway 880. Museum hours
are Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday 10
a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults,
$4 seniors and students with ID, free for children five and under.

Schedule of Events:
Lecture Series
A series of lectures presented in collaboration with the Diablo Grotto
is offered throughout 1999 on the second Friday evening of alternate
months beginning in February (October lecture is the third Friday of
the month). Lectures begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Lecture Hall, and
admission is free.
