If you re tap a bottle you have takEN it dangerously out of specs. Rethreading a valve is a different story. The problem here is finding a shop that can fit the valve to a lathe then cut away the old threads "cleanly" and then cut new ones with the proper size die. Do you know the Brinell Specs for which you are cutting into ? This is something that I have looked closely into. My advise is to just buy a new bottle for $130 +or-$ Or you could get Sherwood to sell you some valves @ $150 On the other hand what is the name and Tele# for the dive shop? These bottles are those semi-long skinny green bottles used in hospitals. The opening is 3/4 inch and I suppose I will have to re-tap after getting the new valves. I am particularly interested in used valves. Dive shops in my area quoted me $35 bucks. That's more than I am interested in paying. > >Thanks, > >Brian >-----Original Message----- > From: Scott Migaldi <smigaldi@ho*.co*> > To: cavers@cavers.com <cavers@cavers.com> > Date: Monday, January 04, 1999 2:27 PM > Subject: WTB: DIN/Yoke K valves > > > I am interested in ourchasing two k valve with 3/4" threads of the type > that are for DIN regs and have the screw insert that will also allow > them to be used with yoke style regs.
