Subject: Re: Seeking regulator recommendation
Randy,

I may be of some help here. The problem that Ken is referring to is one of
possible O-ring extrusion. The O-ring used to seal around the HP seat has
shown a tendency to extrude and leak gas. The initial "fix" that was
implemented was to remove any shims located under the top retaining cap.
This effectively moved the HP seat downwards into the regulator body cavity
creating a better capture effect of the O-ring. This also has the effect
of reducing the IP which, in most cases, is not an undesirable thing. The
current solution from SP is to replace the O-ring with one of a higher
durometer. The higher durometer material has less tendency to extrude. I
hope this is of some help. - JT

PS I do encourage you to have this done only by a qualified tech.
Improper removal of the HP seat may cause regulator failure. I am not
insinuating that you don't know what your doing, but there are a lot of
idiots out there.... or are they ALL at Wakulla now.
