I was in a really good mood when I got home, Friday evening and all, but that all changed when I spend some time looking at the Wakulla2 update section. Now I really feel depressed. I couldn't believe my eyes. So far the update entries show the following: The December 1st entry has a beautiful shot of the spring. Peaceful. Serene. Primal. The way it has been and the way it ought to be. The December 2nd entry shows barges, cranes, Sat chambers, Compressors etc. being constructed and rigged at the waters edge for deployment in the Spring. What the USDCT has accomplished so far appears to be the transformation of arguably one of the nicest accessible natural settings into a look alike for the ship yards of Tampa, Boston or NY or any other major seaport. The December 3rd page shows a huge Air Products truck delivering gas. Add to this the potential clamor of compressors, winches, etc. when the diving begins and the natural beauty of the springs will be gone until the circus folds tent and leaves. Hopefully they will not leave any permenant damage to the environment. You know, what is really troubling is knowing that all of that crap is really not needed (as has already been proven, but that's beside the point). I can't believe the State allowed such callous disregard for the beauty of this unique natural setting. Take a look at http://www.wakulla2.org/update.htm I hope you all find this as disturbing as I did. I have no doubt you will if you have ever enjoyed the beauty of the Spring and Park. These people, the USDCT, if they have any conscience or respect for the natural beauty of the Spring should be ashamed of themselves. Pete Wallace
