Hi all!

sorta new to this list...though I did subscribe for a year or so a few years
ago....

Some background....low time low dive number low depth peon PADI! diver with
some funky 3 or 4 star Euroweanie rating that I forget right now and a nitrox
cert...

Also a long time respectably experienced dry (sorta:) cave caver....

Which brings me to a question I wanted to ask and hope will bring some
interesting (and maybe even friendly!) discussion.

Having been a long time dry caver and having read a lot of dry caving info
(and having read a lot of cave diving info as almost as side hobby) one thing
has always intrigued me...

In the dry caving community there are certain caves/caving areas that have
FANTASTIC potential...or so it seems...

Some appear to have great geology or are close to great cave systems with no
apparent significant differences...but for some reason all leads seem to die
out before the big breakthrough occurs...either due to
breakdown,sediments,tight passages, etc., etc..........

So my question is...are there any areas where its almost a cave diving
community consensus that something GREAT should be at area XYZ but for some
reason nobody has made the big breakthrough?

Or maybe just your personal opinion of where such a place should exist....

Great could be a deep system ... or a big room..or a long system..etc etc....

Not asking for any road directions or GPS coordinates for your secret
sinkhole or spring here :)

Being in Florida myself, stuff in the Southeast is of particular interest,
but anywhere in the world would be interesting to hear about if its
salivation factor is high enough :)

Just as a fellow explorer of sorts reading about these sorta things is as
exciting as reading about the search for the holy grail or the lost
Dutchman's mine...

Any input or pointers to stuff on the net would be appreciated...

take care all

Bill
