(In reply to your message dated Friday 10, November 1995) What Jim actually did to regulate the helium into the compressor inlet was to use an old twin hose regulator. He made an adaptor that secured to the inlet of the compressor with a jubilee clip and secured the other end to the port of the regulator that would normally have the inhalation hose on. A decant hose was connected to the helium cylinder terminating in a std pillar valve. The twin hose regulator was connected to this in the normal way and the helium cylinder was turned on fully. At this point nothing happens, the system remains pressurised. When the compressor is turned on it draws helium through the regulator just as you would if you breathed on it. Jim said that this was a neat way of allowing the compressor to draw helium as required - no leaks - no bags.
